A tribute to remember Alfonso Desiata

A tribute to remember Alfonso Desiata - Alfonso Desiata

Generali and Trieste Chamber of Commerce (Italy) honoured Alfonso Desiata, former Chairman of Assicurazioni Generali and Ania (National Association of Insurance Companies) and representative for the insurance sector at the Trieste Chamber Committee. A hall of the Palazzo della Borsa Vecchia in Trieste has been named after him.
Desiata entered Generali in 1960 and enjoyed a swift career in financial services, before being appointed general manager in 1977 and managing director the following year. Desiata was also elected to the presidency of Ania in 1997 and subsequently became chairman of the Board of Generali from 1999 to 2001. He was an intellectual and a math enthusiast, and fostered innovative ideas such as the introduction of revaluable life policies.
