Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion

Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion

The SMEI (Shareholders Meeting Extended Inclusion) program began in 2016 with the aim of overcoming the physical, sensorial and communication barriers that can hinder shareholders and journalists from participating in the Annual General Meeting. This program has developed over time thanks to the enthusiasm, dedication and attention of the volunteers and Generali staff, offering a growing number of services always aimed at supporting everyone's active participation in that central moment in the life of the Company which is the AGM. The continuous evolution of this program is proof of Generali's constant commitment to inclusion, sustainability and the values of its Group strategy.

A shared commitment, in the name of inclusion

A shared commitment, in the name of inclusion

Over the years, during General Meetings with the physical participation of shareholders – the most recent held in 2025 – Generali has ensured a dedicated assistance service supported by specialized professionals. These include healthcare operators providing continuous support throughout the Meeting proceedings, mediators, Italian Sign Language (LIS) interpreters, subtitlers, and suppliers of mobility aids, such as wheelchairs.

Alongside this professional support framework, the commitment of Generali Group volunteers represents an essential component of the program and a distinguishing element in the quality of the experience offered to shareholders.

Generali acknowledges the strategic value of volunteers’ contribution, both in enhancing the overall standard of the assistance service and in fostering meaningful development in terms of skills, awareness and sensitivity for those participating in the SMEI program.

Since its introduction in 2016, the SMEI program has embarked on a structured path to ensure fully inclusive access to the General Meeting, aimed at reducing physical, sensory and communication barriers that could hinder participation.

Today, its continued evolution reaffirms Generali’s commitment to promoting inclusion, sustainability and the values underpinning the Group Strategy, establishing SMEI as one of the most tangible expressions of the Company’s broader journey.

Annual General Meeting 2026

SMEI services for the 2026 Shareholders’ Meeting

In recent years, even when General Meetings were convened allowing participation exclusively through a proxy granted to the Designated Representative, Generali continued to demonstrate its commitment to shareholders and stakeholders by introducing a key service: the live streaming of the Meeting proceedings. In line with a broader approach to inclusiveness, the broadcast has been enhanced with simultaneous interpretation in English, French, German and Spanish, Italian Sign Language (LIS), as well as Italian-language subtitling.

For the Shareholders’ Meeting of 23 April 2026, the Company has decided to maintain this service, thereby enabling a wider audience to easily follow this essential institutional communication event.
