A discussion on Europe today and future prospects
The economic crisis, the migratory waves and the lack of trust in the institutions have led the solutions adopted until now by governments to be ineffective and then becoming the hub of the populisms that are marking the political scene in many European countries. Moreover, the lack of a solid common project has prevented the creation of a “State of Europe” with single governance able to compete with the other global powers. Lucio Caracciolo, Head of Geopolitical Department of MACROGEO and Editor of LIMES, helps us to reflect on the deep geopolitical crisis that is affecting Europe and on the need of a prompt action.
