With Bloomflow, Generali increases internal innovation capabilities
The innovation management platform allows to map innovative ideas and solutions across all countries of operation, enabling our Group to step up our innovation efforts and Lifetime Partner ambition
Among the fundamental pillars of the “Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth” strategic plan is our Group’s ambition to become a customer-focused and data-driven innovator. This means developing shared platforms, new skills in using data, and greater adoption of smart automation and artificial intelligence technologies.
“Innovation can come from anywhere - both from the inside and the outside of the company. One of our mandates in the Group Innovation team is to ensure that innovation is everywhere for everyone”, says Filippo Maria Stefania, Group Open Innovation Manager at Generali.
To achieve this, our Group fosters innovation by building partnerships with promising startups, funding internal innovation projects, training our people on their proprietary “we innovate” methodology, and building global innovation communities.
To accelerate its innovation process, our Group started to map ideas and new solutions across the more than 50 countries in which Generali operates globally. This was successfully achieved thanks to the adoption of Bloomflow, the innovation management platform, as a technological partner.
"Before implementing Bloomflow we had limited visibility on which type of startup solutions were developed throughout the Group and had different sourcing processes. Now we can more easily identify synergies with other business units", says Ruth Armalé, Chief Innovation Officer at HITS Generali.
Today, Generali has been able to further increase its innovation capacities, tracking more than 1000+ startups on the platform. New and ongoing projects tracked have increased by more than 40% in the past three months alone, while scalable projects have also increased by 40%.
“Just one example of a project that we needed to share with other business units is our Rescue Zone project. It's a project on the boating and sailing market where we bring to users a mutual assistance app that is interconnected with public rescue services,” says Didier Cadic, Head of Innovation at Generali France. “With Bloomflow, we can easily share this opportunity with the Group. So it's really helping us to innovate together internationally.”
Thanks to the partnership with Bloomflow, projects are now 70% more visible across different business units, meaning that they are viewed by teams not directly involved in their development.
Congratulations to all the colleagues involved in the project for contributing to stepping up our Group’s efforts to innovate for consumers’ needs and continue being a Lifetime Partner to them!
