Exactly ten years ago, in April 2011, was my first working day at delta generali insurance. I came to the company from Delta Holding, a minority partner in a joint insurance company with Generali, from the position of the company's Vice President in charge of strategic projects. At the time, we had just completed the sale of the Maxi food retail chain to the Belgian retail chain Delhaize.

I have not even recovered from the completion of this successful one-year project, and I was already on a new task.

Andrea Simoncelli as CEO, and I as his deputy, came to Delta Generali Osiguranje on the same day. We didn't know anything about each other, and I didn't know much about insurance, except that I had four policies.

I absorbed the knowledge that Andrea selflessly passed on to me, mainly about insurance, and I introduced him to our beautiful country, our mentality, our history. We've become a real tandem. We steered our insurance boat successfully and the company achieved record results year after year.

After eight years of successful cooperation, Generali bought a minority stake in Delta Holding and the company changed its name to Generali Osiguranje Srbija. Since 2014, Generali Osiguranje Srbija and Delta Holding have no longer been partners on paper, but their business and friendly relations are undiminished.

I encountered the biggest business challenge in 2014. Back then, I had to choose the path I wanted to take: whether to stay at Generali Insurance Serbia as Andrea's deputy and potential successor or to return to Delta Holding as vice president.

Although there were no guarantees that my career would develop, guided by the values that Generali promoted, which fully correspond to my character and values, as well as the fact that I work at the most successful insurance company in Europe and one of the largest in the world, I made the decision to stay at Generali.

I made a bold and right decision guided by what my heart told me and what I felt I should do, and not on the basis of what was more logical and easier for me at the time. I must also point out the selfless support that I have received at the time from the president of Delta Holding Miroslav Mišković.

Andrea continued to build the business in Poland in 2016, and I was honoured to succeed him as Chairman of the company's Executive Board.

With a lot of enthusiasm I stepped out of the comfort zone and entered into new business ventures. Today, when I look back, I am proud and pleased to say that my 1900 colleagues and I set new records in results every year. More importantly, we work every day to improve our business, take care of employees, understand and empathize with our clients and apply values and behaviors that distinguish us from the competition.

We want to tell a story about insurance that will differ us from others and cause customer enthusiasm. Together, we all strive for the same goal – to become a lifelong partner to our clients.

Pre tačno deset godina, aprila 2011. godine, bio je moj prvi radni dan u tadašnjem Delta Generali Osiguranju. U kompaniju sam došao iz Delta Holdinga, manjinskog partnera u zajedničkoj osiguravajućoj kompaniji sa Generalijem, sa pozicije potpredsednika kompanije zaduženog za strateške projekte. Tada smo upravo bili završili prodaju maloprodajnog lanca prehrambenih proizvoda Maxi belgijskom maloprodajnom lancu Delhaize. Bio je to jedan od strateških projekata Delta Holdinga koji se još uvek smatra najuspešnijim.

Još se nisam ni oporavio od završetka ovog uspešnog jednogodišnjeg projekta, a već sam bio na novom radnom zadatku.

U Delta Generali Osiguranje smo istog dana došli Andrea Simoncelli kao CEO, i ja kao njegov zamenik. Nismo znali ništa jedan o drugom, a ja nisam znao bog zna šta ni o osiguranju, osim što sam imao četiri polise.

Upijao sam znanja koja mi je Andrea nesebično prenosio, pre svega o osiguranju, a ja sam njega upoznavao sa našom prelepom zemljom, našim mentalitetom, našom istorijom. Postali smo pravi tandem. Uspešno smo kormilarili ovim našim osiguravajućim brodom i kompanija je iz godine u godinu beležila rekordne rezultate.

Nakon osam godina uspešne saradnje, Generali je otkupio manjinski deo akcija Delta Holdinga i kompanija je promenila naziv u Generali Osiguranje Srbija. Mada od 2014. godine Generali Osiguranje Srbija i Delta Holding na papiru više nisu partneri, oni to itekako jesu u poslovnim i prijateljskim odnosima.

Sa najvećim poslovnim izazovom sam se susreo upravo te 2014. godine. Tada je trebalo da izaberem put kojim želim da idem: da li da ostanem u Generali Osiguranju Srbija kao Andrein zamenik i potencijalni naslednik ili da se vratim u Delta Holding na mesto potpredsednika.

Iako nije bilo nikakvih garancija kako će se moja karijera razvijati, vođen vrednostima koje je Generali promovisao, a koje u potpunosti odgovaraju mom karakteru i vrednostima, kao i činjenicom da radim u najuspešnijoj osiguravajućoj kompaniji u Evropi i jednoj od najvećih na svetu, doneo sam odluku da ostanem u Generaliju.

Doneo sam hrabru i ispravnu odluku rukovodeći se onim što mi je srce reklo i onim što sam osećao da treba da uradim, a ne na osnovu onoga što mi je tada bilo logičnije i lakše. Moram da istaknem i nesebičnu podršku koju sam tada dobio od predsednika Delta Holdinga Miroslava Miškovića. On me je u potpunosti razumeo i podržao iako je, po njegovim rečima, „izgubio najboljeg menadžera”.

Andrea je 2016. godine svoj poslovni put nastavio da gradi u Poljskoj, a meni je pripala čast da ga nasledim na poziciji predsednika Izvršnog odbora kompanije.

Sa puno entuzijazma sam iskoračio iz zone komfora i ušao u nove poslovne poduhvate. Danas, kada se osvrnem, sa ponosom i zadovoljstvom mogu da kažem da mojih 1900 koleginica i kolega i ja svake godine postavljamo nove rekorde u rezultatima. Što je još važnije, svakodnevno radimo na unapređenju poslovanja, brizi o zaposlenima, razumevanju i empatiji prema klijentima i primenjujemo vrednosti i oblike ponašanja po kojima se razlikujemo od konkurencije.

Mi želimo da ispričamo priču o osiguranju koja će se razlikovati od drugih i izazvati oduševljenje klijenata. Zajedno, svi mi težimo istom cilju – da postanemo doživotni partner klijentima.
