Career
Nora Gürtler’s appointment as Head of Group Audit has been announced on August 2nd, 2017, and was formalized on October 1st, 2017.
After studying mathematics in Germany and France and obtaining a PHD at Karlsruhe University, Nora Gürtler started to work as an analyst at Tillinghast Towers Perrin in Cologne.
She joined Generali Deutschland Holding AG in 2003 as a Senior Analyst and Technical Controller P&C, became a Qualified Actuary in 2005 and led her first team in 2007 on Actuarial Valuation Life & Health.
In 2011 Nora was appointed Chief Risk Officer of Generali in Germany, leading also the local Solvency II implementation project. At the beginning of 2016 she became a Board member of Generali Deutschland before moving to Group Head Office in late 2017.
Nora chairs the ECIIA Insurance Committee and is a Board member of the German Actuarial Association (DAV), chairing its Education Committee.
