Generali confirmed in the top 5 companies in terms of sustainability according to the Integrated Governance Index
The commitment of the Group, ranked 1st in the financial sector, was recognised in the sixth edition of EticaNews’s analysis
Generali has been confirmed in the top five of the most sustainable companies and first in the financial sector in the sixth edition of the Integrated Governance Index (IGI), a quantitative analysis undertaken by EticaNews through a survey sent to a sample of Italian companies – both listed and unlisted - to evaluate the extent ESG factors (environmental, social, governance) are integrated in their business strategies.
The aim of the IGI is to detail the companies’ positioning in relation to key characteristics such as the existence of a sustainability committee, the adoption of remuneration policies linked to ESG standards and board members diversity which demonstrate the progress made in terms of sustainability or integrated governance.
The 2021 edition of the Integrated Governance Index placed ESG Identity at the centre of the analysis, to highlight consistency with an ESG purpose that has to be integrated in the corporate culture, compliance and strategy, and communicated externally - in other words, the ability of companies to enhance their sustainable identity.
