Generali celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

To mark the 2022 recurrence, the Group has become a member of The Valuable 500, a global business collective made up of 500 business CEOs and their companies innovating together for disability inclusion

Generali joins the celebrations for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), whose annual observance on 3 December was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development.

The theme this year is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”. To mark the 2022 recurrence, Generali has become a member of The Valuable 500, a global business collective made up of 500 business CEOs and their companies, innovating together for disability inclusion and to drive lasting system change for the 1.3 billion people around the world who live with a disability.

Creating an even more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable work environment is part of Generali’s Lifetime Partner ambition. That means ensuring workplace accessibility, embracing inclusive practices, and promoting awareness about creating an environment that values, respects and appreciates people for their strengths, so that people with disabilities feel enabled and empowered to bring their own talents to the table on an equal basis with their colleagues.

We are all unique, with different characteristics, cultures, lifestyles, and ideas. Generali's unwavering commitment is to leverage the diversity, talents, and know-how of everyone to create lasting, recognisable value and an engine of growth that has innovation, sustainability, and inclusion at its heart. In other words, only by embracing all our abilities, will we succeed in being a Lifetime Partner, making a difference for our people, our clients, our partners, and the community.
