Generali Climate Hub
Turning climate intelligence into action to strengthen system resilience and support businesses
Extreme weather is no longer an exception. It is reshaping how we live, how economies perform, and how risks emerge, often faster than traditional models can capture.
The Generali Climate Hub transforms complex climate signals into actionable insight, helping anticipate risk, prepare for impact and build long-term resilience.
"We read the data and analyze the patterns.
We act before impact strikes.
We partner with the broader society."
Readiness starts long before the storm.
As climate risks become more frequent and complex, resilience depends on the ability to anticipate change before it happens. By combining climate intelligence, advanced analytics, and collaboration across a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, the Generali Climate Hub helps transform uncertainty into preparedness and support a more resilient future.
Why climate resilience matters
Climate signals are already available across satellite monitoring, predictive models, weather patterns and economic indicators. Yet, taken in isolation, they remain fragmented and difficult to translate into decisions.
The scale of the challenge is growing. Without meaningful mitigation and adaptation, climate change could reduce global GDP per capita by up to 24% by 2100 under high-emissions scenarios1, while more than $100 billion2 in climate-related losses remain uninsured every year.
As climate risks intensify, the ability to connect, interpret and act on this complexity becomes increasingly important. This is where the Generali Climate Hub comes in: transforming climate intelligence into practical action that helps strengthen resilience across markets and communities.
What is the Generali Climate Hub?
The Generali Climate Hub is a Group centre of excellence established as part of Generali’s Responsible Business commitment to a safer and more resilient future.
Its activities develop along three focus areas:
- Climate risk intelligence and analytics: advanced climate risk modelling, risk accumulation monitoring and analytics that support Business Units in assessing and pricing risks accurately, while enabling better portfolio steering and sustainable growth across markets
- Loss prevention actions: solutions and initiatives such as Geoya, a climate-risk prevention platform that help reduce the impact of natural catastrophes by acting before events occur rather than afterwards, strengthening preparedness across the insurance value chain
- Climate partnerships and knowledge networks: leveraging scientific partnerships, research networks, and specialized data providers to strengthen climate insights and risk analytics across the Group, while supporting resilience and adaptation through engagement with institutional stakeholders
The Climate Hub brings together climate data, deep analytics knowledge and strategic partnerships to help the Group and its Business Units understand and manage climate-related risks.
By enabling more consistent decision-making, deeper risk understanding and more effective prevention across markets, the Climate Hub helps Generali move faster, act more consistently across countries and strengthen resilience across markets.
Science, data and partnerships
Achieving this requires not only advanced capabilities but also access to leading scientific knowledge and specialised climate expertise.
Featured partnership: ECMWF
The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is one of Europe's leading weather and climate institutions. Through this collaboration, Generali enhances its understanding of climate-related risks and strengthens its ability to anticipate emerging challenges and develop more resilient insurance solutions.
From protection to resilience
A significant share of climate-related losses remains uninsured, leaving businesses and communities exposed to increasing risk. By improving risk understanding, supporting prevention measures and strengthening preparedness, the Climate Hub contributes to narrowing the protection gap.
This supports business continuity, strengthens infrastructure resilience and improves system preparedness before extreme weather events.
A key enabler of Generali’s Lifetime Partner commitment
The Generali Climate Hub is part of Generali's broader commitment to responsible business and long-term value creation. By helping better understand climate-related risks, strengthen preparedness and support adaptation, the Climate Hub contributes to protecting customers, supporting growth and building more resilient communities.
Through climate intelligence, prevention and collaboration, the Climate Hub reinforces Generali's ambition to be a Lifetime Partner, helping create the conditions for people, businesses and communities to thrive in a changing world.
Because building resilience is not only about managing risk. It is about creating the confidence to grow, invest and look ahead.
