Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion

Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion

The SMEI (Shareholders’ Meeting Extended Inclusion) program began in 2016 with the aim of overcoming the physical, sensorial and communication barriers that can hinder shareholders and journalists from participating in the Annual General Meeting. This program has developed over time thanks to the enthusiasm, dedication and attention of the volunteers and Generali staff, offering a growing number of services always aimed at supporting everyone's active participation in that central moment in the life of the Company which is the AGM. The continuous evolution of this program is proof of Generali's constant commitment to inclusion, sustainability and the values of its Group strategy.

Shareholders' Meeting Extended Inclusion

Given the possibility for shareholders to express their vote by participating in person at the 2025 Shareholders’ Meeting, in order to extend to the widest possible audience the opportunity to easily attend this fundamental moment of institutional communication, the SMEI program once again guaranteed the full range of personal services. Indeed, this year, Generali relied on the support of professionals and external collaborators: the social and healthcare workers who provide qualified assistance throughout the Annual General Meeting, mediators, Italian Sign Language (LIS) interpreters, subtitlers, and external providers of mobility aids, including wheelchairs and ergonomic cushions.

The professional support provided was also effectively and enthusiastically complemented by the activities of Generali Group volunteers, a fundamental pillar of the program. Generali strongly believes in the value that volunteers bring to the shareholder assistance program and, at the same time, in the precious wealth of knowledge, skills, and sensitivity that participation in SMEI can give to the people of Generali.

SMEI services for the 2025 Shareholders’ Meeting

On the occasion of the Shareholders' Meeting of April 24th, 2025, Generali's attention towards all its shareholders and other stakeholders found expression through the implementation of a series of services.

In addition to the welcome at the entrance of the meeting venue, a dedicated check-in station and a path for people with motor disabilities were reserved. Attendees were also able to benefit from in-room assistance provided by Generali Group volunteers and qualified socio-health operators, as well as Italian Sign Language (LIS) translation and Italian subtitles projected on screens at the meeting venue.

Furthermore, for shareholders with sensory and/or motor disabilities, additional services were available:

  • qualified assistance from socio-health operators;
  • assistance to participate in the meeting with their own wheelchair;
  • use of a wheelchair provided at the meeting venue;
  • reservation of parking spaces reserved for the disabled;
  • use of orthopedic ergonomic cushions to support posture;
  • specific menu for celiacs, served during the buffet at the end of the meeting.
