The Procuratie Vecchie building hosts “Italia Domani - Dialoghi sul Piano nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza”, the initiative promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers

The conference is the first official event to be held in the historic Venetian building, which has undergone extensive restoration commissioned by the Group over the past five years and will reopen its doors at the beginning of April for the first time in 500 years

The Procuratie Vecchie hosted “Italia Domani - Dialoghi sul Piano nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza”, the initiative promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to engage citizens, businesses, and local administrations in dialogue on the details and opportunities of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

It was the first official event hosted in the historic building in Venice’s St Mark’s Square; at the beginning of April, it will reopen to the public for the first time in 500 years following a five-year restoration commissioned by Generali. Further, it will become the new home of The Human Safety Net, the Group’s foundation dedicated to developing human potential in the most vulnerable circumstances.

It is precisely in “The Human Safety Net” Auditorium that the Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet welcomed the institutional representatives who participated: Daniele Franco, Minister of Economy and Finance; Maria Cristina Messa, Minister of University and Research; Renato Brunetta, Minister of Public Administration; Luca Zaia, President of the Veneto Region; and Luigi Brugnaro, Mayor of Venice.

From digitisation to innovation, from ecological transition to investments in health and infrastructure, the projects and objectives of the NRRP cover areas in which Generali plans to make a significant contribution. As the Group CEO emphasised, increased cooperation between the public and private sectors will be key to the success of the Plan; it will be the only approach that will permit an effective response to this and all the other unprecedented challenges in the current historic moment.
