The Home of The Human Safety Net

A place designed to be the home of a movement
of people helping people

On the third floor of the Procuratie, The Home of The Human Safety Net  welcomes and inspires an open network of individuals, organizations and institutions committed to the issues of development and social inclusion.
Playful, engaging and suitable for all ages, the interactive exhibition A World of Potential guides visitors to connect with their strengths and see the best qualities in the people around them.

The Exhibition is curated by Orna Cohen, co-founder of Dialogue Social Enterprise (DSE), and  designed by Migliore+Servetto as a progression of experiences that lead visitors to discover their own potential starting from values such as creativity, perseverance, gratitude, curiosity, hope, social intelligence, and teamwork.

It is based on the VIA (Values in Action) universal method, developed in the early 2000s by American psychologists, Martin Seligman and Christopher Peterson and providing a map of 24-character strengths.  These concepts have been translated into 16 interactive installations, both analogue and digital, capable of engaging the most diverse audiences and generating reflection and self-analysis. At the end of the journey, visitors can connect with The Human Safety Net programs – active in 26 countries to support vulnerable families with young children (0-6 years) and integrate refugees through work and entrepreneurship - and discover how, together, we can all make a difference for a more inclusive world. Next to it, a large open space is instead designed to host temporary exhibitions in dialogue with the permanent exhibition whose itinerary it integrates and enriches. The Hub is a co-working space for the creation and development of new ideas and projects that have social inclusion issues at their heart. The Hall, a state of the art auditorium, is an inspiring space for meetings and dialogue. The Café  is a place for refreshment, but also for reflection with the library that offers visitors the opportunity to explore the themes of social impact, parenting and social entrepreneurship, but also to discover more about the beauty and history of Venice, which, beyond the oculi that run the length of the floor, unfolds its incredible and timeless magnificence.
