Trieste – Assicurazioni Generali has renewed its outstanding revolving credit facilities, initially signed in 2013 and last renewed in 2015, increasing their overall amount to € 4 billion. The renewal of the facilities at their new size and terms reflects Generali’s strong credit standing and good market conditions. These facilities, in line with the best market practice, are an efficient tool whose main purpose is to protect the Group’s financial flexibility in case of adverse scenarios.

The facilities consist of two syndicated lines of € 2 bn each, with a duration of 3 and 5 years, led by UniCredit and Santander, respectively, as Global Coordinators. Primary Italian and international banks participated in the syndication with significant commitments.

Furthermore, the new facilities have innovative sustainable and green features: their cost is linked both to targets on green investments and to progress made on sustainability initiatives. This transaction further enhances Generali’s commitment to Sustainability and the Environment already taken by publishing the Charter of Sustainability Commitments and through the approval of the Strategy on Climate Change.
