Ski, Brignone's great challenge in Soldeu: first podium finish in Super G

Federica Brignone is having a great World Cup season. The Italian athlet, who is sponsored by Banca Generali, took first podium finish in Super G and placed fourth in the alpine combined, in Soldeu (Andorra), thus reaching the seventh place in the general ranking. Federica has preceded the American Laurenne Ross and the Austrian Tamara Tippler. Lindsey Vonn, who is first in the overall World Cup rankings, suffered a bad fall. This is the 12th podium of Laura Brignone's career. Unfortunately the race was marred by copious snow and scarce visibility and the event was cut short and postponed by 3 hours due to the severe weather. This exciting season will be remembered also for the inclement weather, that caused the cancellation of many events and prompted discussion on potential safety risks.   Alpine skiing is followed by millions of fans worldwide and Generali, through its Austrian branch, is sponsoring the World Cup, which is the best showcase for international sporting excellence . The Women's Alpine Skiing World Cup leaves the Pyrenees and heads to Jasna, the heart of Europe in the Tatra Mountains, Slovakia. Generali will be present in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) next 5 and 6 of March for the Man’s Alpine Skiing World Cup.
