Career
Simone Bemporad joined Assicurazioni Generali in January 2014 as Group Communications and Public Affairs Director.
Before joining Generali, he spent several years in Wahington, D.C. as a strategic consultant and, from 2007 to 2012, as CEO of Finmeccanica (now Leonardo) North America. Bemporad joined Leonardo in 2003 after serving for one year as chief of staff for the Chairman of Enel, Piero Gnudi.
In 2000, he became press secretary for the Institute for Industrial Reconstruction S.p.A. (IRI), following over ten years in journalism, covering economics, politics and finance. While at IRI, for the Italian Economy and Finance Ministery in 2001 he coordinated the white paper on the Privatization process of Italy led by then Director General, Mario Draghi.
He started his career as press officer of the Transport Federation of the Italian General Confederation of Labour (CGIL), and in 1995 he was spokesperson and head of the press office at the Italian Industry Ministry (Minister: prof. Alberto Clô).
Simone Bemporad began his journalistic career in 1988, working for press agencies, newspapers and weekly magazines. He has published books on private and public companies, served on several Boards of Directors, and he is currently Adjunct Fellow (non resident) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C.
In 2016 he has been appointed Commendatore Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
