Career

Pedro is the CEO of Generali Tranquilidade, the 2nd largest company in the market.

He is also a member of the company’s Board of Directors and in 2024 was appointed to the Board of Banco CTT (Post Bank from the National Post Group).

Additionally, Pedro is a Finance Professor at local and international business schools, namely Nova SBE – School of Business and Economics, and INSEAD.  

He spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company, having left as Senior Partner and Head of Corporate Finance and Strategy for EMEA. He started his career in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. 

Before joining Apollo Global Management and Tranquilidade in 2015, Pedro served Sonae (largest  Portuguese conglomerate) as an Executive Director  overseeing foreign operations in Spain, Germany, France, South Africa and the US. 

Throughout his professional career he worked in multiple geographies and continents (North America, Middle East, Europe and Africa). His experience covers numerous areas such as finance, risk management, capital markets, strategy, marketing, sales and organization. 

Pedro holds an MSc in Business Administration from Catolica Lisbon SBE, an MBA by INSEAD, and an AMP and a PMD from Harvard Business School.
