A walk along a ‘mile’ of art and beauty

Established in Venice the ‘Dorsoduro Museum Mile’, stretching from the Gallerie dell’Accademia to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Punta della Dogana and Palazzo Cini

A ‘walk in time’ throughout a thousand years of art history, from the Masters in the Middle Ages to the protagonists of our time, along a path and a project that combines museums and collections overlooking the Canal Grande, from Ponte dell’Accademia to Punta della Dogana, in Venice.

This is the meaning of the ‘Dorsoduro Museum Mile’, the cultural trail that gathers four eminent institutions located in the homonymous Venetian sestiere within a little more than a mile: the Galleria dell’Accademia, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Palazzo Cini Gallery and The Pinault Foundation’s Punta della Dogana.

A closeness that, under the sponsorship of Generali which supported the initiative, has brought to the realization of a map of the city, complimentary distributed, which highlights a cultural route starting from the Gallerie dell’Accademia, custodian of the entire Venetian art history over the last centuries, until the ‘realm’ of the contemporary, passing through the offering of a Tuscan-Ferrarese-Venetian collecting, like the one belonging to Palazzo Cini, until the immersion in the spirit of ‘900 in the company of a patron-collector such as Peggy Guggenheim. A map that allows the inquiring visitor to benefit from discounts and facilitations to explore and admire the masterpieces of the four art institutes, both public and private, which gave life to the ‘big mile’ of the art along the Canal Grande.
