Lucia Silva receives special recognition at Women in Insurance Award
Each year, the Geneva Association's initiative celebrates women executives in insurance whose work positively impacts society
Lucia Silva, Generali Group Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility, has been honoured with a special recognition at the Geneva Association's Women in Insurance Award, the initiative celebrating women insurance leaders who take the industry forward with initiatives that promote resilience and social prosperity.
With climate and environment among the initiative’s priorities, Lucia Silva received a special recognition for the sustainability initiatives implemented to support the “Just Transition” to a low climate impact future. As is stated in the Geneva Association’s official communication:
“Lucia is recognised for impactful sustainability initiatives. Her dedication and leadership have taken sustainability at Generali to the next level, with sustainability factors driving both the company’s products and investments. The ‘Just Transition’ initiative, sponsored by Lucia, addresses the effects of the coal phase-out on coal-dependent countries and on workers – a concept adopted by the European Commission as part of the European Green Deal.”
Generali’s commitment to sustainability is now directed to new ambitious targets for a future with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, leveraging the results already achieved, as announced with the Group’s recently updated strategy for climate protection.
