Generali publishes “New Horizons”, the latest edition of the Bollettino
Generali presents the new edition of the Bollettino, the Group’s historic magazine since 1893 and the oldest corporate publication in Italy, entitled “New Horizons”.
Through the authoritative voices of journalists, experts, and the Group’s Top Managers, together with contributions from the internal editorial team, the latest issue offers a collective reflection on the geopolitical, technological, demographic, and environmental transformations that are reshaping our era. The theme of the horizon thus becomes a metaphor for the future, a goal and a vision, in a world marked by profound and rapid change.
“The world around us is undergoing profound and increasingly rapid transformations,” said Generali Chairman Andrea Sironi. “But the change we are experiencing is not only geopolitical. It is both the product and the driver of innovation, in a cycle that defines humanity’s progress on the planet. In this context, our industry too is called to evolve. Insurance is not just a tool for protection - it is a lever for progress, a bridge between risk and opportunity, between present and future.”
The Bollettino addresses the theme from multiple perspectives: from the geopolitical and technological shifts redefining the role of Europe and major powers, to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence and data science in insurance and financial business models; from demographic transition and population ageing, to new forms of public-private partnerships for the resilience of communities and businesses. The contributions explore the opportunities and risks of a multipolar world, delve into the impact of sustainability and innovation, give voice to new generations, and propose concrete solutions to face uncertainty and build a more inclusive and sustainable future.
“Over the past five years, in a constantly evolving world, we’ve repeatedly felt as though we were facing particularly unexpected and disruptive events”, commented Generali Group CEO Philippe Donnet. “We face these new horizons from a position of great strength, as demonstrated by the success of our last three consecutive strategic plans. We look at this historical phase with the conviction that, even with uncertainties and risks, there are significant opportunities to shape a safer and more sustainable collective future. And, as we have done for nearly 200 years, we are ready to play our part to make it happen.”
The newest issue of the Bollettino was illustrated by Giordano Poloni. Inside the magazine, readers will find the editorial by Chairman Andrea Sironi, an in-depth analysis by Group CEO Philippe Donnet, and contributions from external authors including Charles Myers (Signum Global Advisors), David Keating (France 24), Catherine E. de Vries (IE University), Dante Roscini (Harvard Business School), Francesco Billari (Bocconi University), and David Quammen (writer and science communicator).
The internal editorial team also offers a look at the “new horizons” Generali is exploring through international initiatives: from the activities of The Human Safety Net Foundation to partnerships with UNDP, OECD, and the Insurance Development Forum, as well as the central role of the Agorai Innovation Hub – the new research centre for artificial intelligence and data science inaugurated in Trieste, a symbol of the Group’s commitment to investing in knowledge and innovation to address major global transformations.
Bollettino Generali
The Bollettino is the magazine of the Generali Group. Founded in 1893, it is the oldest corporate magazine in Italy and one of the most extensive and diverse sources preserved in Generali’s Historical Archive, serving scholars, researchers, and anyone interested in the history of the Company, the evolution of its business, and the national and international socio-cultural fabric in which the company has operated for nearly two centuries.
The magazine’s mission is to offer readers insights into the scenarios shaping the present and, above all, the future, including in everyday life. Hence its payoff: “Future in your daily life.” Since its 2018 restyling, which further strengthened its character as an in-depth magazine on topics such as economics, geopolitics, innovation, sustainability, art, and culture, Generali has continued to renew this historic publication, in keeping with the spirit that inspired its founding 132 years ago.
Each issue revolves around a theme, which gives the magazine its title, and features articles by the internal editorial team, external authors, and a photographic reportage that explores the theme through visual language. Every cover is an original work, specially created by a different illustrator, interpreting the theme of the issue.
