Generali honoured at the 2023 Qorus-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards

The Group was awarded two gold, one silver and one bronze, winning in four out of the seven categories of the award

Generali was honoured at the 2023 Qorus-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards, the competition that showcases the most outstanding innovations in the industry.

The Group won in four out of the seven categories of the award, receiving the Gold title as Global Innovator, the most prestigious award, and ranking as follows in the other categories:

  • First place in the Workforce Transformation category for “Generali Investments Citizen Developers Program”, a project empowering employees to create their own automation solutions using low-code software robots, accelerating processes and improving efficiency.
  • Second place in the Social, Sustainable & Responsible category for “Two birds with a stone: when telematic meets ESG”, a new telematic offering from Generali Jeniot, dedicated to Genertel motor insurance customers, allowing them to enjoy cheaper insurance rate, value added services and overcome traffic restrictions in urban areas. Vehicles joining the "Move-In" project ("Monitoraggio Veicoli Inquinanti" - Monitoring Polluting Vehicles), in fact, will no longer be subject to the hourly and daily blocks in force but will instead be monitored, thanks to a special device, through the total count of the km travelled within a maximum km/year limit established based on the type and the environmental class of the vehicle.
  • Third place in the InsurTech category for “Remedee Labs”, a French start-up part of Future4care - Generali’s start-up accelerator programme for the healthcare sector launched through a joint venture with Sanofi, Capgemini, and Orange - that has developed and refined the first non-invasive neuromodulation solution to revolutionize chronic pain management, and in which Generali invested directly.

Since their establishment in 2016, the Awards recognise the best new innovative ideas that will help accelerate the transformation of insurance for the better around the world. At the same time, they act as a showcase of the most cutting-edge and effective innovations that take advantage of emerging technologies and respond to opportunities in insurance. Generali already won the Gold prize in the Global Innovator category in 2021 and Silver in 2022.

Innovation, one of the main pillars of Generali’s strategy

Innovation plays a key role in Generali’s current strategic plan Lifetime Partner 24: Driving Growth’, which includes a total of € 1.1 billion in investments in digital and technology during the plan horizon (a 60% increase on the last strategic cycle), a new € 250 million insurtech investment programme to harness high-potential opportunities with InsurTech ventures, and an increasingly important role for the Generali Innovation Fund, aiming to accelerate innovation within the Group by stimulating and developing innovative ideas at a global level. The goal is to focus on customers, agents, and employees to offer them the best possible experience and to improve internal processes.
