Social

Our Sustainability vision is that of contributing towards the creation of a healthy, resilient and sustainable society where people can develop and flourish. This is how we live our role as a corporate citizen, creating long-term value for our stakeholders.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Generali has been closely monitoring the situation and has decided to take several steps. The Group will be donating €3 million to support refugee programmes, and all employee donations will be matched 1:1.

Other actions Generali will take include:

  • Close its Moscow representative office;
  • Resign from positions held on the board of Russian insurer Ingosstrakh, in which we hold a minority stake
  • Europ Assistance, operating in Russia, will wind down its business

Back in 2020, Generali responded promptly to the COVID-19 pandemic and the health and social emergency it created by launching a €100 million Extraordinary International Fund approved by its Board of Directors on March 13, 2020 and donated €1 million to the Trieste healthcare system. These initiatives also embodies Generali’s values that are represented with its Purpose – to enable people to shape a safer future by caring for their lives and dreams – with the desire to be a lifetime partner for our clients.

Regarding other social aspects of the business, Generali continues to pay particular attention to its human capital, its most important asset, and to support local communities through its flagship programme The Human Safety Net.
