Lectures by ancient Romans

Discover the daily lives of ancient Romans: the invitation comes from Radici del Presente (Roots of the Present), the archaeological collection of Assicurazioni Generali, in piazza Venezia, in Rome, which in the spring will invite students and schools to attend a cycle of lessons to allow the younger generations to approach the fascinating world of archaeology and learn to value Italy’s cultural heritage.

In March, April and May 2016, a cycle of themed lessons will enrich the experience of the guided visit to the museum, using a simple and attractive language to delve into the history and culture of Roman civilisation.

The lessons, differentiated according to school levels, will be held by a group of archaeologists from Federico II University in Naples.

Starting from the study of the objects displayed in the museum, the daily habits and housing customs of ancient Romans will be explained, along with their public spaces and funeral rites. A lesson will be dedicated to Trajan’s Column and to the Imperial Fora, which the museum's windows overlook.

The initiative, intended for Italian schools, is free of charge with reservation. Lessons will be held in Italian language.
