Generali and UNDP Host Session On Building Resilience For Msmes At 58th Asian Development Bank Meeting

The 58th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting is, an international event where insightful discussions are held between public and private sector representatives around the globe on Asia’s economic and social development. The event, which was held in Milan, Italy for the first time this year, was the site for a joint session hosted by Generali in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The session raised awareness on the urgent need for greater micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) resilience in Asia, and included a range of activities with distinguished experts to spotlight innovative strategies, important practices, and concrete solutions for these businesses. The speakers included Andrea Sironi, Chairman of Assicurazioni Generali, Giulio Terzariol, CEO Insurance, Simone Bemporad, Generali Group Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Riccardo Barbieri Hermitte, Director-General, Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, Kanni Wignaraja, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, UNDP, H. E. Vani Rao, Ambassador of India to Italy, Roberta Casali, Vice-President for Finance and Risk Management, Asian Development Bank and more. 

As part of a broader multi-year partnership with the UNDP, Generali is developing research and tools, incentivising the development of innovative insurance solutions, and advocating for holistic solutions that blend risk transfer and management in Asia.
