Born in Cuneo, Italy on 10 January 1965 and currently living in Hong Kong.  

Umberto Semoli oversees Generali’s internal audit activities and operations across Asia, covering Life, Health and Property & Casualty businesses. He has over 20 years of experience in internal audit across Asia and Europe. 

Career

Degree in Economics and Business Administration, Major in Finance from Luiss Guido Carli University, Rome, Italy; Executive Diploma in Management from HKUST Business School, Hong Kong; Chartered Accountant.  

Prior to joining Generali, Umberto was with Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (a major Italian commercial bank) for more than 15 years where he covered several roles and responsibilities (internal audit manager, chief representative, deputy branch manager, senior credit analyst, trade finance analyst) across Europe, Asia and Australia.  

Umberto started his career as a Chartered Accountant with a local chartered accountancy firm in Rome, Italy.
