Generali China Insurance officially establishes Green Insurance R&D Hub

Generali China Insurance (GCI) has announced the official launch of its Green Insurance Research & Development Hub (R&D Hub). By bringing together academic research institutions, industry partners, and professional think tanks, the R&D Hub aims to build an open and collaborative green insurance innovation ecosystem, driving the industry's transformation toward high-quality and sustainable development.

At the launch ceremony, Jack Yuan, CEO of GCI, outlined the R&D Hub’s three key development directions:

  1. Conducting specialised research on green insurance to develop white papers;
  2. Focusing on the development and application of risk solutions for green transformation;
  3. Establishing multi-level industry exchange dialogues or events to promote knowledge-sharing and collaboration in green insurance market.

Additionally, the R&D Hub has set up a Green Insurance R&D Advisory Committee, comprising a diverse team of experts from academia, business, and industry, to provide forward-looking strategic guidance and professional decision-making. Recently, GCI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fudan Institute of Insurance Application and Innovation. The first collaborative project, white paper on the energy storage market and risk research, has already commenced and is scheduled for completion and official release in December this year.
