Generali promotes the arts, by supporting and developing projects for the conservation,
restoration and enhancement of architectural and environmental heritage, together
with school education projects, with a view to bringing the young generations closer to arts and history.
Since its outset, Generali has devoted great attention to the ways to represent
its identity, carefully choosing the most appropriate tools to share this wealth with the community. With this goal in mind, the company organised an exhibition of ancient Roman
artefacts belonging to the Generali collection and found during the building works
for the Generali premises in Piazza Venezia, Rome. The exhibition, entitled “Roots of the Present” and conceived for the 175th anniversary of the company’s foundation, was first held at the central headquarters
in Trieste and subsequently at the headquarters in Mogliano Veneto.
In addition, the Group supports exhibitions dedicated to arts of all times and cultures, from great classic artists, such
as Antonello da Messina and Tiziano, to the neo-impressionists Seurat and Signac,
the surrealist master Magritte and Monet, the father of Impressionism (“Monet e il Tempo delle Ninfee” - “Monet and the Time of Water Lilies”).
The company is also traditionally involved in supporting major national and international
theatres (only to mention a few: La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Verdi in Trieste and Musikverein in Vienna) and participates in prestigious literary and journalistic prizes
(e.g. the Premio Letterario Campiello). Aside from a number of cooperation agreements with internationally renowned
artists, the Generali Group also promotes and encourages young music talents (BSI Monaco Music Masters).
