Paola Sapienza

Paola Sapienza was born in Catania on 19 March 1965. After graduating in Political Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan, she continued her studies at Harvard University, obtaining a master’s degree and a doctorate in economics. After working in the Studies Department of the Bank of Italy, she pursued an academic career in the USA, culminating in her present post as Full Professor of Finance at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Her specialist fields, in which she has written numerous publications, include corporate governance, business finance and banking economics. Paola Sapienza has been a member of the Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali since April 2010.
