To strengthen the utmost attention constantly paid by the Group to corporate
issues concerning its human resources, and according to the guidelines given by
the Ethical Code and the Sustainability Report, the Parent Company adopted in
2006 the European Social Charter of the Generali Group. This document reasserts
the guiding principles on the safeguard of employees and, in general terms, the
Group image, which apply to every EU Member State where the Generali Group operates.
Here are some of the issues dealt with by the European Social Charter:
full respect for workers’ fundamental rights;
promotion of corporate dialogue between the Management and workers’ representatives;
the search for the best strategies in managing, protecting and enhancing human
resources;
respect for basic social rights, the right of workers to be represented and the
performance of their functions
The European Social Charter, presented by the Group’s Top Management on November
28, 2006 by handing out the document to the Select Committee delegates of the
European Works Council (EWC), is implemented in all European countries where the Group operates and is available
to all staff members working in the different Group entities.
