As part of the events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification, Rome has hosted the exhibition entitled “Regions and Witnesses of Italy”, in 2011, where Generali presented their significant contribution.

The variety and uniqueness of the individual regions are among Italy’s most important features, forming one of its key assets. The regions presented not only their exceptional historical, cultural, technological and industrial heritage, but also the new identity that has been created all over the course of one and half century and, above all, during the last 40 years.

In one of the five prestigious locations in which the exhibition was held, the central hall of the Vittoriano complex — the monument dedicated to King Victor Emmanuel II and inaugurated by him in 1911 — housed the “Art and Regions” exhibition, bringing together the finest Italian artwork from 1861 to nowadays.

Through works of art, objects, photographs, videos and illustrative panels, the Italian regions testified to the long and complex path of the past 150 years, in which each one has left a mark on the development and growth of the country.

Backed by its history, Assicurazioni Generali has also actively participated at the prestigious venue of the Vittoriano complex with an exhibition space that documents the company’s development and progress since 1831 in a social setting spanning many decades, some of which were often fraught with difficulty.
The exhibition was an opportunity to recount the contribution and historical path of the Trieste-based Company in 150 years of Italian history. It thus bore witness to how, throughout its development, Assicurazioni Generali has successfully established its prestigious position in the international insurance and financial industries.

"Notte Tricolore" ("Three-colour night"), the all-night celebrations for Unification

As part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification, Assicurazioni Generali participated in the all-night celebrations for Unification “Notte tricolore” on 16 March, illuminating the façade of its Rome main offices in Piazza Venezia with the three colours of the Italian flag and the logo of the Lion of Trieste.

The colours of the Italian flag were also projected on the Vittoriano monument, also known as "Altare della Patria" (Altar of the Fatherland).
